WHY GO ABROAD?
Since Nigerian independence till date, series of medical tourisms have taken place outside the shores of Nigeria to other countries such as Europe, America, Asia etc all in the name of getting the best medical attention. Yes, they were right then, but cannot be seen right now in this twenty- first century.
Several factors were responsible for many Nigerians going abroad then.
Firstly, personnel were inadequate and secondly, facilities were not available to handle certain disease burdens plaguing lots of Nigerians, hence the need to travel out for such treatment.
But this medical tourism was only limited to a few privileged persons. However, only those with the resources either as business tycoons, government officials or sponsored by corperate organizations. What then becomes the fate of those who could not and who cannot make it to America, Europe and Asia? They either resort to visiting hospitals within their localities or herbalists or resign to fate depending on the resources available to them.
Fellow Nigerians, it's time to change this perspective that medical attention should only be enjoyed by few. It's the right of every Nigerian to have access to quality health care.
It is on this note that I want to draw the attention of Nigerians to an existing facility in the country known as TRISTATE HEALTH CARE SYSTEM. It is a Cardiovascular Care Centre which handles all cases of heart diseases, including CONGENITAL HEART DISEAES, VALVULAR HEART DISEASES, CORONARY ARTERY DISEASES, etc. The Facility offers services such as OPEN HEART SURGERY, CARDIAC INTERVENTIONS, PACEMAKER IMPLANTS AND NON-INVASIVE CARDIOVASCULAR PROCEDURES SUCH AS ECG, ECHO, STRESS TEST, HOLTER MONITOR, to mention just a few.
These treatments have been brought to your doorstep, which hitherto, Indian, UK, America etc have been the only hope for those burdened with such ailments.
Now, consider the airfare, accommodation, then treatment itself, isn't that alot of money？ How many families can survive well economically after such treatment outside the country, including follow-ups thereafter? Now that such facility exists in Nigeria, do you still have to commit huge amount of money to travel out for medical care either as a business man or government official, when you only need just a quarter of that amount to get full treatment in Nigeria and get well?
